Shelley Sianta, PhD

I’m an evolutionary ecologist and geneticist with interests in plant adaptation and speciation. I like to combine a variety of approaches in my research, including field and greenhouse experimentation, population genomics, and phylogenomics. Mostly, I love working with plants and getting my hands dirty. I’m currently a postdoc at the University of Minnesota with Yaniv Brandvain and Dave Moeller. I am super excited to be starting as an Assistant Professor at the University of Texas, Austin in Fall 2025.

Outside of research, I love recreating outside in a variety of ways, dance and music, and my favorite new hobby, sewing.
